Employee Wellness

Mandy Enright-4

"I’ve been there: The daily stresses of a demanding job. Strained health. Working too much and feeling there isn't enough time or energy left for anything else. My approach to worksite wellness is to work within your employees' daily schedules, finding ways to incorporate healthy nutrition and strategic movement throughout the day without off-setting daily responsibilities. I work in partnership with Human Resources, executives, and other key decision-makers to create a program that will increase employee productivity and morale while decreasing sick days and a felt lack of work-life balance."

The workplace has changed, both physically and culturally. More employees are working remotely or hybrid than ever before. Mental health is being discussed openly. Companies are looking for ways to keep their employees connected and satisfied in a virtually distanced world.

So why are you still taking an old school approach to employee health and wellness? Here’s a hard truth: health fairs and educational lunch and learns aren’t going to shift the culture of your company. Don’t get me wrong – they have their moments. But if you truly want to change the culture of your company and show that your efforts are making a significant and measurable impact, then you need to take a more sophisticated approach to your employee wellness efforts.

I’ve been a corporate burnout well before “burnout” was trendy. And I’ve been a worksite wellness specialist since becoming a registered dietitian in 2014. I’ve watched the world of workplace wellness evolve immensely in that time. Prior to 2020, I was educating HR professionals on WHY they needed a wellness program at their company. Now no one doubts the importance of wellness in the workplace. In fact, having a wellness program is no longer a “perk” or “benefit” – it’s an absolute necessity.

Today the big question HR professionals have is HOW to implement a worksite wellness program. It’s a big ask. Not having the right program in place can potentially lead to negativity, burnout, and reductions in employee retention. Even worse, your wellness budget can get cut because you can’t justify the value. Exactly the opposite of what you wanted to achieve.

But having the right program in place can make an impact. It can not only change the overall health of your employees but can change the health of your COMPANY. You can become a place that people are proud to work at. Where people feel like they’re valued and heard. Where people are flooding your inbox with requests to come work for you.

So… have I got your attention?

If you’re reading this and saying “YES! That’s what I want!” then congrats – you’ve come to the right place.

As an employee wellness consultant, I work directly with HR professionals to help them create, implement, and analyze custom employee wellness programs.

I have over 10 years of experience working in the employee wellness space and have delivered over 500 wellness presentations to a variety of companies and employees. I’ve created dozens of wellness programs across a variety of topics. To say I know this industry inside and out is probably an understatement. And I continue to keep my finger on the pulse in this ever-evolving industry.

I don’t do cookie cutter when it comes to wellness programs. Wellness is never a “one size fits all” approach and that certainly applies to corporate wellness. Different companies and different industries have different needs and challenges when it comes to their employees. When I work with a company, I want to speak directly to your employees, not the general masses.

Now I’m sure the #1 question on your mind is “How do I get started creating an employee wellness program?” Depending on where you are at in your program creation, I have a solution for you. It all depends on how deep of a dive you’re ready to take with your wellness program efforts.
